- Slightly more than 30,000 babies were born in Singapore in the first 10 months of the year, just one percent higher than the same period the year before, data from the National Population Secretariat showed. A record 13,209 foreigners took up Singapore citizenship over the same period.
- Urban rail services operated by SMRT Corp (SMRT.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and ComfortDelGro (CMDG.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) were disrupted thrice on Christmas day, with two of the instances due to separate incidents of commuters going on its tracks.
