Miner Iluka shuts down West Australia operations
SYDNEY, June 5 (Reuters) - Australian miner Iluka Resources Ltd (ILU.AX) has shut down mineral-sands operations in Western Australia after an offshore gas-plant explosion took down a chunk of the state's power supply, the firm said on Thursday.
It said it had halted major production facilities at its Mid West and South West operations in Western Australia.
"Iluka will continue to supply customers from available inventory in the short term and is also investigating the means to supply customers from other company production sources or to reschedule shipments, if required and to the extent practicable, in the event of an extended outage," it said.
