HK shares slip at open as Cathay falls

HONG KONG, June 17 (Reuters) - Hong Kong shares opened 0.09 percent lower on Tuesday, weighed down by losses in Cathay Pacific (0293.HK) and China Shenhua Energy (1088.HK) after a strong rally on Monday.

The Hang Seng Index .HSI was down 21.61 points at 23,008.08.

The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of locally listed mainland companies dipped 0.03 percent.

Cathay fell 1.2 percent after gaining 2.1 percent in the previous session. China Shenhua lost 1.2 percent.
