UPDATE 1-Malaysia's stock market halts trading over glitches
(Adds exchange statement)
KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Reuters) - Malaysia's stock market has halted trading for at least the morning session on Thursday due to computer glitches, the exchange operator said.
Bursa Malaysia (BMYS.KL) said trading would be halted at least until the lunch break at 12:30 p.m. (0430 GMT) following what it said was a "multi-hardware failure" at its core trading system.
"Bursa Malaysia is investigating the problem," it said in a statement.
"The derivatives market will continue to trade as normal, however, there will not be any underlying KL Composite Index .KLSE feed for the stock index futures and options trading," it said.
An exchange official said the exchange's crude palm oil futures <O#KPO> will trade normally. (Reporting by Soo Ai Peng and Jalil Hamid; Editing by Bill Tarrant) ((aipeng.soo@thomsonreuters.com; +603-2333 8039; Reuters Messaging: aipeng.soo.reuters.com@reuters.net; Bureau Email: areuters@gmail.com))
