BEIJING/SHANGHAI, July 8 (Reuters) - Chinese newspapers available in Beijing and Shanghai carried the following stories on Tuesday. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.

CHINA SECURITIES JOURNAL

-- China's economic growth will remain at a relatively high rate for the next three years after sharp increases in the past five years and the government's priority is strictly controlling inflation, a Industrial and Commercial Bank of China research report said.

-- The washing machine unit of Chinese home appliance maker Qingdao Haier Co Ltd (600690.SS) has entered into a technology cooperation arrangement with Daimler AG's (DAIGn.DE) Mercedes Benz.

-- Tencent Holdings Ltd (0700.HK), which runs China's largest online messaging community, said the linux version of its popular QQ chat programme had gone into the testing stage.

SHANGHAI SECURITIES NEWS

-- AJ Corp (600643.SS), which is in the process of restructuring, has signed an agreement with Shougang Holding (Hong Kong) Ltd, making Shougang its biggest shareholder and bringing in Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing as an investor.

-- Of 126 listed Chinese companies surveyed, 44 percent have established sound internal controls but the remainder still need to improve, according to a report by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

CHINA BUSINESS NEWS

-- Shanghai prosecutors sanctioned the arrest of Yang Jia for manslaughter, accusing the 28-year-old man from Beijing of stabbing six Shanghai police officers to death and wounding four others at Zhabei District Public Security Bureau last week.

-- French supermarket chain Carrefour SA (CARR.PA) aims to double its investment in China's earthquake-hit Sichuan province over the next three to five years, its China unit said.

SHANGHAI DAILY

-- The maximum temperature in Shanghai hit 38.8 degrees Celsius for a second day on Monday, with the city's meteorological bureau predicting at least another three days this week with temperatures above 35 degrees.

FINANCIAL NEWS

-- The daily cash limit on withdrawals from overseas ATMs for China Unionpay ATM card users has been increased to 10,000 yuan ($1,450) from 5,000 yuan, the central bank-run bank payment system operator said.  Continued...
