German finmin: D.Telekom-Sprint reports are rumour
BERLIN, May 5 (Reuters) - German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck on Monday dismissed as rumour reports that Deutsche Telekom AG (DTEGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) may be interested in buying U.S. mobile operator Sprint Nextel Corp (S.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz).
"I think it's a rumour," Steinbrueck told reporters in Berlin.
German magazine Der Spiegel reported that managers at Deutsche Telekom were studying options such as a takeover or merger with Sprint, with no decision having been made. (Reporting by Dave Graham, writing by Paul Carrel)
