Alcatel gets Reliance Comm undersea cable contract
MUMBAI, Dec 13 (Reuters) - FLAG Telecom, the undersea cable arm of Indian mobile firm Reliance Communications (RLCM.BO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), has awarded a contract to Alcatel-Lucent (ALUA.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) to build a undersea cable, a spokesman for the Indian firm said on Thursday.
"It was awarded earlier this week," he said, but declined to give financial details.
The Economic Times newspaper, quoting unnamed company sources, said the contract was estimated at $350 million. (Reporting by Devidutta Tripathy; Editing by Ranjit Gangadharan)
