Mobile Fair-T-Mobile says to lower roaming data charges

BARCELONA, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Deutsche Telekom's (DTEGn.DE) mobile division T-Mobile will lower roaming charges for data usage in Europe and offer a uniform roaming charge for data connections, its chief executive said on Tuesday.

Mobile Internet within Europe will cost 2 euros per megabyte for occasional handset surfing, Hamid Akhavan said at the mobile trade fair in Barcelona.

For heavy data, T-Mobile will offer a day pass for 15 euros, which will allow customers to purchase a transfer volume of 50 megabytes. (Reporting by Nicola Leske; Editing by David Holmes)
