Nokia market share dives in Asia-Pacific in Q3
HELSINKI, Dec 4 (Reuters) - The world's top cellphone maker Nokia (NOK1V.HE) saw its market share in the Asia-Pacific region fall sharply in the third quarter, to under half of all phones sold, slides for a presentation showed on Thursday.
Nokia's market share in the largest market in the world fell to 48 percent in July-September from 61 percent in the second quarter.
The region, which excludes China, had the lowest mobile phone penetration in the world at 43 percent, Nokia said.
In Europe, Nokia's market share fell to 38 percent in July-September from 42 percent in April-June.
Nokia made 55 percent of all phones sold in Middle East and Africa, up from 53 percent in the previous quarter, and 40 percent in China, up from 39 percent in the second quarter. (Reporting by Sakari Suoninen; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
