Poland - Factors to Watch on July 14
WARSAW, July 14 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Poland's financial markets on Tuesday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland GMT + 2 hours):
BUDGET AMENDMENT
The lower house of the parliament starts work on a budget amendment, which envisages increasing budget gap by a half to 27 billion zlotys. Government wants the lower house to finish work on Saturday before the bill goes to the upper house.
BUDGET GAP
The government will have to pay about 10 billion zlotys ($2.2-3.2 billion) to power companies in overpaid excise tax, Rzeczpospolita daily reported. On Monday Warsaw court decided excise tax on energy was incorrectly calculated since January 2006.
RUCH PRIVISATION
Poland's treasury may change its approach to retailer Ruch privatisation, the Treasury Ministry's spokesman Maciej Wewior told Parkiet daily. The ministry may now sell the entire stake to a selected investor instead of waiting for a call for shares.
INFLATION
Poland will not meet euro entry inflation criterion neither in 2009 nor in 2010 but has a chance to meet it in 2011, Monetary Policy Council (MPC) member Dariusz Filar was quoted as saying on Tuesday on Rzeczpospolita website.
Filar also said inflation would remain close to 3.5 percent until January-February 2010 when the term of the current MPC ends. [ID:nWAR008532]
