O'Brien raises Independent News stake above 26 pct
DUBLIN, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Denis O'Brien has raised his stake in Independent News & Media (INME.I) to above 26 percent, the Irish telecoms billionaire said on Wednesday.
O'Brien has been consolidating his position as the second biggest shareholder in the Dublin-based newspaper publisher (INME.L) behind Chief Executive Anthony O'Reilly, who increased his stake to 28 percent in June.
O'Brien, branded by management a "dissident shareholder" after his attacks on the company's corporate governance practices, had a 25 percent holding in June. (Reporting by Andras Gergely; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
