BOSTON, Feb 7 (Reuters) - McAfee Inc (MFE.N) Chief Executive Dave DeWalt said on Thursday that his company is developing products to secure computer systems using virtualization software from VMware Inc (VMW.N).

McAfee, the second-largest publicly held security software maker, has "partnerships" with VMware, the largest publicly held maker of virtualization software, he said.

"It's a real market shift opportunity... It's creating an opportunity for security in that virtual environment," he added.

VMware, whose virtualization software allows a single server computer to perform the work of 10 or more machines, is a subsidiary of EMC Corp (EMC.N).
