THE STRAITS TIMES
- A sharp rise in the number of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) cases, coupled with the reappearance of a deadly strain which killed seven children in a 2000/2001 outbreak, has heightened concerns about the latest outbreak.
Over 500 pre-schoolers caught the childhood ailment on Monday alone, bringing the total to 7,560 people hit so far this year.
THE BUSINESS TIMES
- Jade Technologies (JADE.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), at the centre of a regulatory investigation after a failed takoever attempt, is seeing more departures after its chairman resigned on April 18.
Its chief financial officer Vera Lim has tendered her resignation, while its lawyer Joanna Teng have discharged herself.
