SINGAPORE, April 22 (Reuters) - The following are stories from Singapore newspapers on Tuesday. Reuters has not verified these stories.

THE STRAITS TIMES

- Singapore central bank the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority are looking into Jade Technologies' (JADE.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) aborted S$117-million takeover as well.

- Trade agency International Enterprise Singapore has appointed Sunny Verghese, chief executive of Olam International (OLAM.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), as its chairman with effect from Tuesday.

THE BUSINESS TIMES

- David Lau, who headed global financial markets at DBS Group (DBSM.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), is leaving the bank on May 15 to set up a private hedge fund, DBS said. Lau will be replaced by Andrew Ng, managing director and regional head of trading for Global Financial Markets at DBS.

- Inflation is the number one risk for Asia, ranking even higher than the current credit squeeze and global economic slowdown, said top Australian economist Roger Donnelly, the chief economist of the Australian Export Finance and Insurance Corporation.
