Vonage names Marc Lefar as CEO, replacing Citron
NEW YORK, July 29 (Reuters) - Web based telephone service provider Vonage Holdings Corp (VG.N) named Marc Lefar as Chief Executive on Tuesday, replacing interim CEO Jeff Citron who will remain as non-executive chairman.
Lefar served as chief marketing officer of Cingular wireless, now part of AT&T Inc (T.N). News of the appointment comes after Vonage said last week that Silver Point Finance LLC would provide up to $215 million in private debt financing.
Vonage -- a pioneer in selling Web phone services to consumers looking for cheaper alternatives to regular phone service --- has struggled in the face of tough competition.
