NEW YORK, April 29 (Reuters) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc (SIRI.O) and XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc XMSR.O said on Tuesday they would each delay their annual shareholder meetings as they await information on when their pending merger could close.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has yet to approve the deal, though the two companies passed a major test last month when they received U.S. Department of Justice permission to proceed.

Sirius shareholders were due to meet on May 20, while XM's meeting was set for May 23. (Reporting by Michele Gershberg, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
