Harris Corp net falls partly due to higher costs
SAN FRANCISCO, April 29 (Reuters) - Communications equipment maker Harris Corp (HRS.N) on Tuesday posted a lower quarterly profit as costs rose, even as revenue climbed.
Harris said net income for its third quarter ended March 28 was $108.0 million, or 78 cents a share, compared with $214.9 million, or $1.52 a share, a year ago.
Revenue rose to $1.33 billion from $1.07 billion.
Its cost of product sales and services widened to $933.9 million in the third quarter from $719.1 million a year ago. Also, in the year-ago quarter, Harris booked a gain of $163.4 million on its combination with Stratex Networks. (Reporting by Duncan Martell; Editing by Braden Reddall)
