HONG KONG, July 14 (Reuters) - Huadian Power International Corp Ltd (600027.SS) (1071.HK) said late on Monday it produced 50.07 million megawatt hours of electricity in the first half of 2009, up 5.15 percent from the same period a year ago. On-grid electricity sold totaled 46.57 million megawatt hours for the six-month period, an increase of 5.11 percent from a year ago.

The company attributed the increases to newly acquired power plants and newly constructed generating units commencing operations.

The company also said a 49.5 megawatt wind power generating project was approved by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission earlier in July. (Reporting by Donny Kwok; editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
