Thai stocks -- energy, banks, Shin Corp eyed
BANGKOK, June 17 (Reuters) - Thai stocks are expected to edge lower on Tuesday, weighed down by selling of energy shares .SETEN after world oil prices declined, analysts said.
But bank stocks .SETB should gain after the Bank of Thailand sent its strongest signal yet that it was ready to raise rates to fight inflation. [ID:nBKK64306]
"Due to the up-trend in interest rates, there should be continued speculation on bank stocks but big-cap oil firms should still be dumped after a drop in oil prices," Asia Plus Securities analyst Puwadol Lapudomsuk said.
The main index .SETI is likely to move in a range of 780-795 points, he added.
On Monday, the benchmark SET index rebounded 0.63 percent to 787.59 points, after falling to near a five-month low last week, as investors bought back bank shares .SETB.
