Indian shares start 1 pct lower on global cues

BANGALORE, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Indian shares opened down 1 percent on Thursday, led lower by Reliance Industries (RELI.BO) and ICICI Bank (ICBK.BO), with weaker overseas markets denting sentiment. By 9:57 a.m. (0427 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was down 1.34 percent, or 201.97 points, at 14,847.89, with all but one of its components falling.

The 50-issue NSE index fell 1.26 percent to 4,447.30. (Reporting by Sumeet Chatterjee; Editing by Ranjit Gangadharan)
