HOUSTON May 16 Alon USA Energy (ALJ.N) said on
Monday its 80,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Krotz Springs,
Louisiana, refinery should be safe from flood waters because of
new levees built in the past few days to protect the plant.
"The existing and new levees and secondary layers of
protection should do the job," said Alon Chief Operating
Officer Joseph Israel in an email. "It is amazing what this
wonderful group of people can do together."
Alon employees, Louisiana National Guard soldiers, the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers and Krotz Springs residents have been
working for about two weeks to build new levees around the
