BEIJING (Reuters) - French gymnast Cassy Vericel has pulled out of the Olympics because of an ankle injury.

The 17-year-old world floor bronze medalist hurt herself during training on the vault this week.

"I fell forward and felt a stab of pain," she told reporters on Sunday.

She will be replaced by 18-year-old Rose-Eliandre Bellemare. Women's qualifying is on Sunday at the National Indoor Stadium.
