Daimler expects to overtake BMW in China in 2-3 years
SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Daimler AG (DAIGn.DE) CEO Dieter Zetsche said on Monday that he expects Mercedes-Benz to outsell premium auto brand rival BMW (BMWG.DE) in China by about two to three years from now. In March, Mercedes-Benz sales in China grew 50 percent to about 5,100 units, lagging BMW by just a few hundred units.
Zetsche said Mercedes-Benz had been China's fastest-growing luxury auto brand for the past three years.
