Salesforce quarterly revenue rises 24.6 pct

May 18 (Reuters) - Salesforce.com Inc reported a 24.6 percent rise in quarterly revenue, boosted by strong demand for its cloud-based sales and marketing software.

However, the company reported a net loss of $9.2 million, or 1 cent per share, in the first quarter ended April 30, compared with a profit of $38.8 million, or 6 cents per share, a year earlier.
