TOKYO, March 11 (Reuters) - Daiichi Sankyo Co said on Friday that it will recall 13 lots of the ActHIB pediatric vaccine after it found an unidentified substance in two syringes.
Daiichi distributes the Sanofi-Aventis vaccine in Japan.
Japan's health ministry has halted the use of vaccines made by Pfizer Inc and Sanofi-Aventis SA that prevent meningitis and pneumonia following the deaths of four children.
A panel of experts at the health ministry this week found no direct link between the vaccines and the deaths but said further checks were needed, Kyodo news agency reported. (Reporting by Mayumi Negishi; Editing by Edwina Gibbs)
