Slovenia economy minister Lahovnik quits

LJUBLJANA, July 8 (Reuters) - The economy minister of euro zone member Slovenia resigned on Thursday, only days after he quit his Zares party, a junior partner in the centre-left government coalition, the economy ministry said.

Matej Lahovnik’s resignation comes at a time when Slovenia is hoping for a modest recovery after its economy shrank by 7.8 percent in 2009 amid the global financial and economic crisis. (Reporting by Marja Novak; Editing by Zoran Radosavljevic and Jon Boyle)
