OMAHA, Nebraska (Reuters) - Margaret Hoelzer set a new 200 meter backstroke world record at the U.S. Olympic trials on Saturday when she clocked a time of two minutes, 6.09 seconds.

Hoelzer sliced .30 seconds off the mark of 2:06.39 set by Zimbabwe's Kirsty Coventry in February.
