Donald, Jones and Calcavecchia share lead at Honda

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida (Reuters) - Britain's Luke Donald, Australian rookie Matt Jones and American Mark Calcavecchia head into Sunday's final round of the Honda Classic, sharing the lead on six under par.
But behind the leading trio lay nine players within three shots of the lead -- promising an exciting final round on one of the most challenging courses outside the majors.
The three are unlikely leaders -- Donald had to recover from making an eight on the 14th on Friday, the 47-year-old Calcavecchia missed the ball on the second and Jones, in just his seventh PGA tour event has never finished in the top three.
Calcavecchia, who won this event in 1987 and 1998, carded four birdies and a bogey as he made a three under-par 67 and ended his recent putting worries.
"Nobody ever won a tournament out here without making a buttload of putts, I'll tell you that," said Calcavecchia.
"This is the best I have putted this year. I was hoping it would be a matter of time before I started making some and I have made a few this week," he added.
Calcavecchia's embarrassing miss came on the second when his ball fell close to a palm tree and he tried to chip it left-handed and missed the ball completely.
"I didn't chunk it or go over the top of it. I just missed it inside the ball and it just shocked the hell out of me," he said. Continued...
