Tampa Bay snap up linebacker Trotter
MIAMI (Reuters) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed experienced linebacker Jeremiah Trotter two weeks after he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 30-year-old Trotter, a four-time Pro-Bowler, has featured in the past nine NFL seasons during a career in which he has also played for the Washington Redskins.
Trotter was surprisingly released by Philadelphia after a season in which he appeared in every game and made the most tackles on the team with 161.
Trotter trained with the Buccaneers on Tuesday before signing up for the new season which starts on Thursday, the team said on their Web site (http://buccaneers.com).
Tampa Bay begin their NFC campaign at Seattle on Sunday.
