Portugal's Parente tests with Renault F1 team
LONDON (Reuters) - Portuguese driver Alvaro Parente had a first taste of Formula One when he tested with former champions Renault at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain on Thursday.
Renault said in a statement that the 23-year-old, testing as the winner of the 2007 World Series by Renault junior championship, completed 64 laps at the wheel of last year's R27 car.
"It was a fantastic day, with positive results in every sense," he said. "I hope I can use the experience to my advantage for the next stage of my career."
