IRVING, Texas (Reuters) - World number 10 Adam Scott retained a share of the lead midway through Saturday's Byron Nelson Championship third round.

The Australian, who began the day one shot clear, remained five under par through nine holes, level with Kevin Sutherland.

Scott bogeyed the par-three second hole and hit his approach into a bunker to drop another stroke at the eighth but birdies at the fourth and fifth meant he completed an outward half of 35, level par.

Sutherland raced to the turn in three-under 32 with a birdie two at the fifth and an eagle three at the seventh.

Australian Mark Hensby, who was joint second overnight, was four under overall after nine holes.

Sergio Garcia (65) tied the lowest round of the week at the TPC Las Colinas course which has been renovated since last year's tournament.

The Spaniard was in the clubhouse on 206, four under.
