PARIS (Reuters) - Russian Anna Chakvetadze became the highest seeded casualty in the women's draw at the French Open, beaten 6-4 7-6 by Estonian Kaia Kanepi in the second round on Thursday.

Sixth seed Chakvetadze, a quarter-finalist at Roland Garros last year, dropped serve four times and bowed out after 99 minutes when she lost the tie break 7-2.

Kanepi will next face either Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues, seeded 29th, or Tsvetana Pironkova.
