LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired top slugger Manny Ramirez from the Boston Red Sox in a three-team deadline day deal, the LA club said on Thursday.

Left fielder Jason Bay moves to Boston from the Pittsburgh Pirates said a report on the Dodgers official website (losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com).

It added that third baseman Andy LaRoche and former first round draft pick pitcher Bryan Morris had moved from the Dodgers to the Pirates as part of the switch and the Pirates also received two young players from the Red Sox.

A report on the Pirates' website (pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com) said a news conference had been called for 5.30 ET.

The 36-year-old Dominican Ramirez, a 12-time All-Star who has struck 510 career home runs, had been unhappy at Boston after disagreements with team officials.
