Wizards' Songaila suspended one game for hitting LeBron
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Washington Wizards forward Darius Songaila has been suspended for one game for hitting Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, the NBA said on Friday.
The incident occurred late in the first period of Washington's 88-87 win over the Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs on Wednesday in Cleveland.
A five-year veteran, Songaila was cited for striking the NBA's leading scorer "in the face with his hand."
Songaila was to serve the suspension on Friday when the Wizards host Cleveland in game six of the Eastern Conference series. Cleveland leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.
