Bucs Griese doubtful for Sunday
TAMPA, Florida (Reuters) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Brian Griese is an injury doubt for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Griese hurt his right shoulder and elbow after being tackled by Champ Bailey in Sunday's 16-13 defeat by the Denver Broncos.
Asked if the quarterback would start against Carolina, coach Jon Gruden told reporters: "We'll make that decision on Wednesday."
Jeff Garcia, who replaced Griese in the third quarter against the Broncos, was Tampa Bay's starting quarterback last season when the team won the NFC South with a 9-7 record and reached the playoffs.
Garcia started the opening game of this season against New Orleans, a 24-20 defeat.
Griese then replaced him, leading the Bucs to three wins in a row against Atlanta, Chicago and Green Bay before Sunday's loss.
