Hasselbeck poised for return
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck could make his return from injury in Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Mike Holmgren said.
A back injury has ruled Hasselbeck out of the past five matches but Holmgren said that if there was no negative reaction from training this week, his starting quarterback should be ready for action.
"I probably should see how he practices but I'm assuming, I don't think there will be any change in (his condition)," Holmgren told the team's website (www.seahawks.com).
"He threw the ball around a little bit last Friday, and if he does that and can do those things and he moves fine, then, yeah, he'll probably start," he said.
Hasselbeck's return is all the more urgent as his stand-in, Seneca Wallace, suffered a groin injury in Sunday's defeat to the Miami Dolphins.
Should Hasselbeck be unable to return, Seattle would have to turn to third-choice quarterback Charlie Frye.
Seattle are third in the NFC West with a 2-7 record.
