VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Vancouver winger Daniel Sedin will be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a broken foot, the team reported on Sunday.

The veteran Swedish player and his twin brother Henrik are two of Vancouver's best players and play together on the Canucks' top line.

"I took a shot off the (left) foot in the second period (against Montreal on Wednesday)," Sedin said on the Canucks' website (canucks.nhl.com)

"I kind of felt right away that something was wrong but we did an X-ray between the second and third period and nothing showed.

"The next day it was still kind of sore so we had another X-ray done and put the cast on. It's unfortunate, but I've been lucky so far over the past nine years, so I guess it was bound to happen."
