Browns linebacker Barton out for the season

CLEVELAND (Reuters) - Cleveland Browns linebacker Eric Barton has been ruled out for the rest of the season, the NFL team said on Tuesday.

The Browns said that Barton had been placed on the season-ending injured reserve list but did not state the nature of his injury.

Barton started all eight games this season and was the most prolific tackler in the team with 58.

Cleveland, who have just one win so far, are now without both their opening day inside linebackers as D'Qwell Jackson is also on the injured reserve.
