HEADLINE STOCKS - U.S. stocks to watch on June 11

NEW YORK, June 11 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Wednesday:
ALCOA INC (AA.N)
Shares of the aluminum producer fell more than 6 percent to $39.84 on the NYSE after J.P. Morgan Securities said market expectations of a sale of the company were incorrect, and it downgraded Alcoa to "neutral" from "overweight." For more see[ID:nBNG322883].
STAPLES INC (SPLS.O)
The U.S. office supplies company has won its battle to buy Corporate Express CXP.AS after the Dutch firm agreed to a sweetened bid of 1.7 billion euros ($2.65 billion) and ended its own deal with Lyreco. [ID:nL11414890]
Shares rose more than 3 percent to $23.93 on Nasdaq.

The S&P 500 financial sector .GSPF briefly hits 5-year low on market rumor of Goldman Sachs (GS.N) write downs, according to market sources.

On the NYSE, Washington Mutual fell more than 13 percent to $5.80 a share.
