NEW YORK, June 13 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Friday:
US AIRWAYS GROUP INC (LCC.N)
The airline announced late on Thursday that it will reduce its work force by about 1,700 jobs and cut its domestic capacity. For more see [ID:nN12275700]. On Friday, Merrill Lynch raised the airline to buy from neutral, according theflyonthewall.com [ID:nWNA5141]
US Airways shares soared more than 17 percent to $3.16 on the New York Stock Exchange.
CONTINENTAL AIRLINES INC (CAL.N)
The airline said late on Thursday it will stop flights from its hubs to more than 40 domestic and international destinations as of Sept. 3 as it scales down in the face of soaring oil prices. [ID:nN121693 ]
The airline's stock jumped 9 percent to $13.57 on the NYSE.
YAHOO INC (YHOO.O)
MICROSOFT CORP (MSFT.O)
GOOGLE INC (GOOG.O)
Microsoft's plan to establish a strong footing in online advertising suffered a big blow on Thursday as merger talks with Yahoo ended and the Internet media company said it would let Web search leader Google sell search ads on its site. [ID:nN12428183]
In trading on Nasdaq, Yahoo shares fell 6.6 percent to $21.95. Microsoft shares climbed 2.3 percent to $28.88 and Google shares rose 2 percent to $564.17.
LEHMAN BROTHERS HOLDINGS INC LEH.N

Lehman Brothers' LEH.N shares surged 9.2 percent on Friday to $24.80 on the NYSE, snapping back after five days of declines, as investors looking for cheap stocks bought shares and some short-sellers closed out their positions.
