Cegetel seen winning France's Club Internet-report
PARIS, April 16 (Reuters) - Telecom operator Neuf Cegetel NEUF.PA has won a tender for French Internet operator Club Internet, put up for sale by Deutsche Telecom (DTEGn.DE), with a bid of between 430 million euros and 460 million euros ($623 million), French daily Les Echos reported on Monday.
Citing industrial sources, the newspaper said Neuf Cegetel's bid topped that of rival operator Free (ILD.PA), which had offered between 380 million and 400 million euros.
Neuf Cegetel and Free could not be immediately reached for comment.
Club Internet, which has 600,000 ADSL clients, made a 2006 operating loss of about 100 million euros on sales of more than 200 million euros, due to heavy investment to deal with client growth.
