NEW YORK, April 16 (Reuters) - Comcast Corp. (CMCSA.O) said on Monday it will provide clips from the Golf Channel, E! and other cable TV broadcasts to an online video site planned by News Corp. NWSa.N and NBC Universal, joining a project aimed at competing with Google Inc.'s (GOOG.O) YouTube.

Comcast, the leading U.S. cable operator, will also distribute the online video site through Comcast.net and Fancast.com, which is a new entertainment site launching this summer.

Other companies who have signed on as distributors include Yahoo Inc. (YHOO.O), Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O) and Time Warner Inc.'s (TWX.N) AOL.

"We are pleased to have the best of NBC and Fox's TV content available to our customers on Comcast.net and Fancast.com," said Comcast Chief Operating Officer Steve Burke.

"Making TV content available on multiple devices will enable our customers to view their favorite shows on television, online and on video-on-demand," he said.

In addition to distribution, Comcast will provide non- exclusive content from Comcast Networks such as E!, Style, G4, Versus and Golf Channel.

The site is already slated to contain high-profile content from both NBC and News Corp., including TV shows such as NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and "The Simpsons," and hit films such as "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Borat" from News Corp.'s Fox.

The site, announced last month, is expected to be launched this summer and will include an Internet media player, which will be embedded on partner sites.

Advertising revenue will likely be split between the site carrying the content and the company that produced the entertainment.

The site has already signed on marketers Cadbury Schweppes Plc (CBRY.L), Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO.O) and General Motors Corp.(GM.N).
