Patent court affirms Kodak win over Ampex
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Eastman Kodak Co (EK.N) won another round in a battle with Ampex Corp AMPX.O on Thursday over who owns the patents for digital imaging.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed without comment a lower court's ruling that granted Kodak summary judgment.
Ampex's share price was down nearly 13 percent at $1.90 around midday, while Kodak's share was up 2.1 percent at
$19.06.
Financially struggling Ampex, which replaced its CEO last February, was founded in 1944 and was once considered a Silicon Valley innovator. It is credited with inventing the commercial video recorder in 1956 and first U.S. tape recorder in 1948.
