Morales boards Sci Fi's "Caprica"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Esai Morales has joined the cast of Sci Fi Channel's two-hour "Caprica" pilot.

The project is a prequel to the network's "Battlestar Galactica." Morales ("Jericho") will play Joseph Adama, the father of William Adama (played in "Galactica" by Edward James Olmos), who one day will command the Battlestar Galactica.

Joseph is described as a deeply passionate man with a strong sense of justice -- and someone you wouldn't want as your enemy.

Paula Malcomson previously was cast as a surgeon who works as a double agent.
