"Terminator" TV series gets Hollywood premiere

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Studio executives and television writers struck an uneasy truce at the unconventional premiere of the Fox network's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" in Hollywood Wednesday.

The sci-fi thriller, which debuts Sunday night, normally would have been showcased during the annual January press tour of the Television Critics Assn. But the whole event was canceled as a result of the Hollywood writers strike, which is now in its third month with no resolution in sight.

Instead, Fox held a movie-style premiere at the Cinerama Dome. The show's writing staff showed up after writer/executive producer Josh Friedman received blessing from the Writers Guild of America.

"I've been working on the show for two years, it's been my life, and there hasn't been a lot of good things to celebrate for writers in the last few months," Friedman said. "So I wanted to be here to celebrate.

Also in attendance were the show's stars: titular heroine Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau and Richard T. Jones, along with "Transformers' vixen Megan Fox and "Terminator 3 veteran Kristanna Loken.
