ABC's Obama-Clinton debate most-watched to date

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC's broadcast of the Democratic presidential debate was the most-watched of the 2008 presidential campaign.

Wednesday's duel between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, held in Philadelphia six days ahead of the crucial Pennsylvania, primary drew 10.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Their previous encounter, on MSNBC in February, pulled in more than 7.8 million, easily a record for the cable network More than 8.3 million tuned in for their CNN-hosted joust on January 31.

Fox won the night thanks to "American Idol," which matched its lowest rating in five years (22.7 million).
