Television Critics Assn. honors "Heroes"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - NBC walked away with four key trophies at the Television Critics Assn. Awards on Saturday, including outstanding program of the year honors going to its freshman hit "Heroes."

Another NBC rookie, "Friday Night Lights," took home the award for outstanding new program, while "The Office" grabbed outstanding achievement in comedy prize for the second consecutive year. Alec Baldwin ("30 Rock") won the peacock's fourth trophy for individual achievement in comedy.

"The Sopranos" also had a strong showing at the TCA Awards, which took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The HBO series was awarded outstanding achievement in drama and the Heritage Award, which salutes long-running programs with "a lasting cultural or social impact."

Another multiple winner was Discovery Networks' "Planet Earth," which nabbed the crowns for outstanding achievement in news and information and outstanding achievement in movies, miniseries and specials.

Among the other individual winners were "Dexter" star Michael C. Hall for achievement in drama and Mary Tyler Moore, honored for career achievement.
