LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Country music cable channel CMT has signed a deal to rebroadcast episodes of the NBC talent show "Nashville Star," which will make its broadcast network debut on June 9.

The singing competition aired on cable's USA Network for five seasons before upgrading to its NBC corporate sibling.

Billy Ray Cyrus will host, and also will serve as judge and mentor alongside John Rich, Jewel and songwriter Jeffrey Steele. Solo artists, duos and trios will compete for a recording contract with Warner Bros. Nashville and the chance to perform at the Olympic Games in Beijing, which NBC coincidentally is broadcasting in the United States.

"Nashville Star" will debut on Viacom-owned CMT June 14 before moving into its regular time slot June 20 at 8 p.m.
