TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - Tish Cohen's tween-targeted novel "The Invisible Rules of the Zoe Lama" is being adapted as a live-action TV series by Canadian production company 9 Story Entertainment.

"The Invisible Rules of the Zoe Lama" tells the story of a seventh-grader, Zoe Costello, who confidently and compassionately dispenses advice to friends and family before she faces her own difficult truths.

9 Story CEO Vince Commisso said Wednesday that he has optioned the novel and will produce an initial 13 episodes of the series for worldwide broadcast sale.

The book-to-TV series project is a follow-up to Cohen's debut novel, "Townhouse," which Fox Studios and Scott Free Prods. are developing as a theatrical feature to be directed by John Carney ("Once"), with Doug Wright ("Quills") writing the script.
