Jeffrey Tambor joins cast of "Lawyer" pilot

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jeffrey Tambor, of "Arrested Development" and "The Larry Sanders Show," will co-star opposite David Tennant in NBC's hour-long pilot "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer."

"Rex" centers on Rex Alexander (Tennant), a top Chicago litigator who begins suffering panic attacks and starts to coach clients to represent themselves in court.

Tambor will play Rex's psychiatrist, a specialist in anxiety disorders who himself suffers from them and who becomes romantically involved with Rex's mother. David Semel is on board to directed the comedic legal drama from a script by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson.

Tambor was seen on the big screen this year in "The Hangover" and "The Invention of Lying."
